Energy Efficient Windows

Energy efficient windows aren't just about the glass ...

It is true that glass has an impact on the energy efficiency of windows and doors. However, other components such as the frame and seals also influence the energy efficiency of windows and doors.
It is actually the critical selection of frame, seals and glass, and how well they are designed together, that determines the overall energy efficiency of windows and doors.

Since the end of 2012, most states and territories in Australia have required homes be built to a 6-star energy rating. In order to meet these performance standards, an Accredited Assessor is required to carry out a Building Thermal Performance Assessment, referred to by us as an energy report.

A full list of Accredited Assessors is available on the 'Find an Assessor' page of www.absa.net.au
Please ensure that you perform due diligence when choosing an Assessor.

NOTE: ABSA is a national association whose core business is to accredit, certify and conduct training for residential building sustainability assessors.

Below are a few links regarding energy efficiency that can assist you in finding windows to help achieve your energy rating goal.

NOTE: When using the WERS window energy ratings guide, you will need to (as highlighted) select Statesman Windows from the manufacturers menu, Aluminium from the materials menu, the types of windows you want to see, any energy star ratings or performance values if you know them, and then click apply to see our product ratings only.
